VR in 90s Music Video

I went to Aerosmith's concert during the summer this year in Las Vegas, and I was completely amazed by this old rock band when seeing the 71-year-old Steve Tyler performing energetically like he has never been aged. I guess this is also the reason why I was not that shocked when I discovered they were using Oculus Rift in their 1994 music video of the song "Amazing" -- they are so avant-garde and explorative in trying to marry new media technology to musical art. The magic powder of not being aged is probably the continuous curiosity and open-mindedness about the newly born concepts.

In this music video, Aerosmith not only showcased this young man's digital presence via physical and emotional feedbacks from his interactions with his admired lady in a VR space, but also brought up the discussion of the ability of changing one's appearance with computer vision tech -- the early Photoshop software. The young man was able to modify his physical appearance such as facial features, muscle sizes and body shape in order to create the "ideal self" so that he can be confident enough to ride the motorcycle with his admired pretty lady.
