Reflection on Class's Feedbacks

Audience generally report a positive feedbacks on the design, environment set-up and concept of my Alpha version, and at the meantime, they also expressed interests for more interactions, audio elements, animations and hints for spatial navigations.

The current alpha stage is still lack of contents, which would includes audio/visual interactive elements and potentially text guides. One of the goals of this survey is to

  1. examine audience's acceptance for this terrain and environment design

  2. investigate what kind of information and meaningful interaction audience would expect in this environment

  3. see how long would audience like to spend in this fantasy and quirky virtual space

From the results, I learned that people would like to spend 10-15 minutes in this game, so I think having 2-3 mini interactions/games will be sufficient while people can still have some time to explore and visit around in this fantasy virtual world.

In order to emphasize the educational purpose, most audience want to learn about the ingredients of bread-making, and least of them have interest in making dough. I decided to design a puzzle game. where people not only need to finish it with the piece in the right shape, but also the one with the correctly needed ingredient. (2D design for this puzzle is my next task) This also validate my previous assumption that "proving dough" is usually considered as a repetitive practice with a boring wait, which opens up an opportunity for this VR game -- now people can play it while they are waiting their dough to be proved.

Since this environment is relatively big, with a complex geographic terrain, I decided to add teleportations and arrows/road signs for clearer navigation hints.
